LED Flat Panel TV

One of the newest technologies to the electronics market is the LED TV. Because not many manufacturer’s make this television as of yet, it is still quite costly. It has advanced technology; the cost of the LED television is sure to decrease in the coming years as more sets become available.

Before the LED television was made, all televisions were made with a technology called the cold cathode. This technology was the light for the screen. This new technology is wonderful and much more defined; there are also some health risks involved as there have been people who have been said to get migraines while watching the LED. The new LED affords a greater and more colorful display with more contrast and an all- over crisper picture.

There are three main types of LED lights that may be used. Edge LED lights are often white and are used mostly along the edge of the screen. RGB dynamic LED lights show the greater contrast of white, black and colors. Unfortunately, with this type of LED, some small objects are shown in less detail than what is intended. Full array LEDs make up the last type of bulb used in this TV. This gives the television and overall greater color contrast as well as lets the scenes or picture change more rapidly.

There are many benefits to LED televisions. To many, one of the biggest benefits lies in the fact that it consumes only a fraction of the energy that a traditional TV takes. This preserves the Earth as well as lowers the monthly energy bill. Many people also like the thinner panel the LED TV offers. Heat dissipation is much better on this TV; it evenly distributes the heat generated.

The reviews of LED televisions in generally have been highly positive. While little issues have arose, there has been no major issues and are loved by many owners. LED television sales are expected to rise within the coming years. Most LED televisions are given in online customer ratings anywhere from four to five stars.

A new LED TV will set a consumer back anywhere from several hundred dollars to a couple thousand dollars. Used televisions are available from some retailers helping to make this luxury available to more people. The brand of the television, the size and what the television is capable of in terms of features are all things that cause different televisions to vary so much in price. The LED TV is still unaffordable to most consumers today.

The Advertising Standards Authority of the United Kingdom as well as others have stepped up to put an end to shady business practices. While the LED television as we know it was not produced until 2008, in 2004 a LED backlit LCD screen was manufactured. Many products around 2008 were not clearly labeled, leading consumers to think a product was something it really was not. Manufacturers are now required to clearly label packaging.

LED televisions are new and fairly costly. With gushing reviews and an impressive picture display among other features, the sales are sure to blossom in the coming years. As competition grows and the technology price decreases, the prices of these sets are sure to decrease as well.
