Google Adsense program sure get everyone’s attention. It’s like a phenomenal when everybody, not just the webmaster owner or blogs, but also include normal people who merely even know what e-mail really was get invloved with google adsense. I started blogging years back then, but never been serious monetizing it until this year 2008. However, Shoemoney does inspired me to go for it. I follow his blog regularly subscribe to his blog, newsletter and obviously I learn one thing from him. Intenets can make big money! I bet many of you already seen his enormous big amount of check sent by Google Adsense. Some people said it was scam. He is fuc**ng rich!No way that was a scam. Today i check out my Gmail inbox and found this interesting newsletter Shoemoney write. It does open my eyes though. Shoemoney On Google AdSense Google AdSense is an amazing and very innovative product. For those who are unfamiliar with the application, Google AdSense simply displays ads on your site based upon the text found on each page. When people click on one of these ads, you receive a percentage of the revenue. The exact percentage of that revenue has not been revealed, but it is rumored to be somewhere around 80 percent. Overall, Google charges a very low fee for the service they provide. There are many other positives to running Google AdSense. It relieves the pressure and headache associated with trying to sell ad space, collect advertising revenue and manage your own in-house server and software. But most people stop there. They are satisfied with the little taste of success that Google AdSense has given them. In return, they never stop to consider all the negatives that are associated with using Google AdSense. Editorial Control By far, the biggest downside to Google AdSense is the lack of editorial control it provides. With Google AdSense, there are very few options to allow you to block advertisements and advertisers you do not approve of for your site. I will give you an example. One of my wife’s friends lives in rural Nebraska. She sells a very rare and expensive breed of dog – Kerry Blue Terriers. She also has a website where she talks about the breed. As soon as she began running Google AdSense, she quickly started receiving hate mail from her users. They told her that she was making money off of people who sell fighting dogs and things along those lines. She was very confused. The only ads she ever saw were for dog collars, leashes and typical pet products. Since Google AdSense allows for geographic and site targeting, these advertisers were able to target certain cities. Her users who were located in these targeted areas encountered the offensive Google AdSense ads which she never even saw. Ultimately, this damaged the overall trust she had built up with her readers for many years. One Click & Gone With Google AdSense, the only way you can make money is if people leave your website. In my opinion, this is not a smart plan. You have worked hard to get users to your website and to establish trust with them. Now you are willing to give them up for a few pennies to your competition? Also, when a user clicks on a Google AdSense ad, a new window does not open. That means if a user finds this new advertising page offensive, useless or whatnot, they’ll close the window. Boom. They’re gone. That’s it. Your Reputation In my experience, Google’s general advice is to blend their ads into your site as much as possible. The major problem that stems from this practice is user confusion. What content is yours and which things are Google AdSense ads? Because of this, some users will try to hold you accountable for offers being advertised on your site. Trust me. I have had people actually file claims against me for offers they have signed up for from Goolge AdSense advertisers found on my site. You really need to be careful. What else can I do to make money? Well, you can do several things depending on your website. Subscription Forums and content sites do really well with subscription revenue. You can set up subscriptions very easily through PayPal. Subscriptions are auto-renewing and compounding, a great source of revenue. Donation For blogs, donations work pretty well. You may have seen some people basically beg for a couple bucks. Others try something somewhat more creative like, “Buy me a cup of coffee.” This just redirects you to PayPal to send money for the equivalent of a cup of coffee. These tactics work okay. However, with blogs, I personally think the best way to handle donation-type monetization is with “wish lists”. Amazon provides embedded wish lists for webmasters so users can purchase you the items you want as a way to say thanks. Affiliate Revenue Did you know pretty much every major online merchant has an affiliate program? Dell, Google, eBay, Amazon, Target, HP, Dell. And I bet they sell something that has to do with your website. Did you know that by simply linking to their site you get a percentage of what your users spend there? Look into it! Well, upon all that shoemoney wrote in his newsletter, i think it makes sense. Don’t put all your eggs in one bucket. That’s i heard most came out from the Online Gurus. I wonder who came out with that quotes and it was damn rite. I encountered so much people out there who get banned from Google Adsense, and they were fuck up. Yes, Google Adsense was the only income they had, and they depending over it. So, make your “make money” blog or website more variety of ads. That’s going to save you a lot, and even make you earn more.
